We are running amavis with sendmail on Redhat 7.2, and it works fine. But we think the way emails with attachements exceeding the MAXFILES limit is handled, is bad. Now, such emails is stuck in the sendmail mail queue, and the sender of the email is not informed that the mail has not reached the reciever. Would'nt it be better to remove the mail from the queue and return an error message to the sender, in the same way as if a virus was detected ?
Yes, it's bad. amavis-ng, which will soon replace amavis-perl,
handles this differently.
