Hi everyone,

I'm under Fedora Core 2 with the sound card SB64 PCI
128 CT4750 (Creative Labs), but the (supposed)
autodectection isn't good, since I've got a permanent
buzzing sound on my speakers.

As I'm a complete newbie to Linux, I don't know what to do.
with /sbin/lsmod, I got, with the preinstalled driver :

lspci :

00:0b.0 Multimedia audio controller: Ensoniq 5880
AudioPCI (rev 04)

lspci -n :

00:0b.0 Class 0401: 1274:5880 (rev 04)

lsmod :

snd_mixer_oss 13824 1 snd_pcm_oss

modprobe.conf :

alias snd-card-0 snd-ens1371
install snd-ens1371 /sbin/modprobe --ignore-install
snd-ens1371 && /usr/sbin/alsactl restore >/dev/null
2>&1 || :
remove snd-ens1371 { /usr/sbin/alsactl store >/dev/null
2>&1 || : ; }; /sbin/modprobe -r --ignore-remove
snd-ens1371

Then, I've tried to install the new 1.0.5a driver,
following the guided installation, but it became worse :
Now lspci is completely buggued (see the attached file,
made with KWrite)

I've tried to remove the existing loaded modules with
rmmod, but it doesn't want to.

With dmesg, I got :

So I don't know what to do.

Thanks in advance for your help.

    So, I've uninstalled the drivers, rebooted the computer,
    then re-installed the drivers. Now, I don't have problems
    with lspci anymore, neither to load modules, but I still
    have this "buzzing" noise. What on Earth can cause this !?
    (I've got important packages updated, and the lastest Fedora
    kernel : 2.6.6-1.435.2.3)
