Hello to all, I am in the midst of attempting duplex audio (capture and playback) on an Atmel 9260 board with a dumb codec attached, Linux-2.6.28.8. I must first state that I am completely new to ALSA and audio development in general, let alone on an embedded level, but have learned a great deal from reading. I am fortunate enough to have a working driver for the codec and have aplay and arecord functioning well with it, but am at a point where I do not know how to work with duplex audio. I have done a great deal of reading on the asym plugin but quite frankly feel like I'm missing something. my test software is able to control capture and playback streams easily enough (half-duplex essentially), but opening a duplex style stream just doesn't seem as straight forward as snd_pcm_open(stream stuff....). Has anybody worked with duplexing the streams using the asym alsa plugin? I would appreciate any help in direction in this matter, and unfortunately since I'm so new to ALSA, I don't even know the proper way to ask my questions. So in short, I need to setup a duplexed stream (or a method of having capture and playback open at the same time on the same sound card) that I can write and read to from software. I'm sure I left out plenty of information and didn't want to crowd the post with code, so if there is specific information that is needed please let me know. Thanks Preston |
