I've set the SPSA mixer level to zero, enabled the IEC958 checkbox in
AlsaMixer=2E I ran iecset, but wasn't clear what the parameters ought to b=
e=2E
Here is the output:

Mode: consumer
Data: audio
Rate: 48000 Hz
Copyright: protected
Emphasis: none
Category: PCM coder
Original: original
Clock: 1000 ppm

Do you see any parameters that should be different?

Set the "SPSA" mixer control to 0, set correct parameters with the
iecset utility, enable the "IEC958" control, and try playing to
hw:0,0=2E
