greetings and happy new year! maybe someone had this before?!: I try to record with my old zoltrix/nightingale CMIPCI 8738(33) via digital-in (toslink) with ardour... seems to be no problem when I use arecord -Dhw:0,2 (as mentioned somewhere in the archive) or if I use jackd (...) -d hw:0,2 -C (just capturing) jack quits with the following message: btw (alsa version is: 1.0.0-1.rc2.cvs-rhfc1 from planetccrma) ---------------------------snip--------------------------------- [root@localhost root]# jackd -R -d alsa -d hw:0,2 -r 44100 -p 256 -n 3 -S jackd 0.92.0 Copyright 2001-2003 Paul Davis and others. ... loading driver .. creating alsa driver ... hw:0,2|hw:0,2|256|3|44100|0|0|nomon|swmeter|rt|16bit control device hw:0 configuring for 44100Hz, period = 256 frames, buffer = 3 periods ALSA: mmap-based access is not possible for the playback stream of this audio interface ALSA: cannot configure playback channel cannot load driver module alsa -------snippeldisnip----------------- hmm...i heard about that somewhere else the new alsa driver tries to set stream to 24bit (or something I don't understand). But I think there must be a way by editing the .asoundrc? something like capture device=hw:0,2 playback=hw:0,0 if someone gots the time to figure out what to do please let me know! peace martin |
