Hi list, I'm trying to find out whether there's a straight forward way to use amixer for mute/unmute master/pcm/everything in such a way that the possibly needed script works on many different machines with any installed Alsa output devices. Is there a simple way or do I need to write a script which handles all possibilities regarding device names and other possible differences? Regards, Tuncer Ayaz |

I will write a script calling amixer or a tool linking against libasound to achieve that - depending on which option is easier/cleaner/more portable. Thanks for your help. |

Maybe you can use part of the pulseaudio code to do what you want? |
