    Hi guys

  • 09:14:08
    xanthos

I have a question about tracker permissions

  • 09:14:28
    xanthos

I realise that the simple users of sourceforge cannot publish any ticket

  • 09:14:38
    xanthos

only admin and developer can do that

  • 09:14:50
    xanthos

do you know how to allow simple users to use my tracker?

  • 14:18:19
    ctsai-sf

The "Options" item for the tickets tool is really broken for me. Anyone else seeing this? Should I ticket?

  • 14:18:50
    brondsem

    lol

  • 14:18:51
    brondsem

    please

  • 14:19:12
    ctsai-sf

    Will do.

  • 14:19:26
    qstpp

how are identicons for users without gravatar account generated, particularly in case where sf user didn't provide an e-mail?

  • 14:19:31
    qstpp

is user's IP used then and is it salted before hashing?

  • 14:21:45
    brondsem

qstpp: i believe we always have an email address

  • 14:22:14
    qstpp

brondsem: when logging in with OpenID?

  • 14:22:50
    ctsai-sf

Sometimes we don't for OpenID-only accounts, but are there even any pages that OpenID-only accounts can access with generated identicons?

  • 14:22:59
    brondsem

the SF implementation of Allura doesn't support openid only

  • 14:23:49
    qstpp

as far as I read, there are limitations to using sf without sf username and password

  • 14:25:29
    qstpp

    look the section "For Reference"

  • 14:25:43
    ctsai-sf

Yeah, one of those limitations are that they don't work with the new SourceForge platform (aka Allura).

  • 14:26:09
    ctsai-sf

I'm going to add Allura to that list...

  • 14:26:36
    qstpp

i don't know what allura actually is, i was interested in sf generally

  • 14:27:53
    ctsai-sf

qstpp: could you link to where you're seeing the generated identicons you're referring to?

  • 14:28:04
    ctsai-sf

Now that I think about it more, I thought we only generated them for projects, not users.

  • 14:28:17
    qstpp

    just a sec

  • 14:29:14
    brondsem

ctsai-sf: we show them on new/upgraded projects in some places (e.g. code browse, authors of a wiki page)

  • 14:29:26
    brondsem

allura == the codebase for new/upgraded projects on SF

  • 14:29:58
    ctsai-sf

Ah, I didn't notice we stopped using the generic icon.

  • 14:30:52
    qstpp

can't find the link at the moment, you need me to keep searching?

  • 14:32:02
    ctsai-sf

brondsem: I'm still just seeing the generic icon. eg., first author here: https://sourceforge.net/p/allura/wiki/Allura%20Wiki/

  • 14:32:38
    ctsai-sf

qstpp: yeah, I'm still not certain where exactly we're talking about.

  • 14:33:03
    brondsem

i think we use the user's icon, if set, and if that doesn't work we try to use gravatar. if there isn't a gravatar set for that user's email, then the default gravatar image is used

  • 14:33:59
    qstpp

i obviously confused something. so everyone without specified e-mail get the same generic icon?

  • 14:34:19
    brondsem

i think we'll need to see an example to answer clearly

  • 14:34:44
    qstpp

for instance the wiki link ctsai-sf posted

  • 14:34:46
    ctsai-sf

qstpp: we do generate identicons for projects that don't have a project icon set.

  • 14:35:09
    ctsai-sf

    Plenty of examples here: http://sourceforge.net/directory/

  • 14:35:25
    qstpp

ctsai-sf: ok, i thought it refers to users too, but i was wrong

  • 14:36:03
    qstpp

    sorry for the confusion

  • 14:36:15
    ctsai-sf

No worries. Glad we could clear things up.

  • 14:36:47
    qstpp

yeah, i see identicon for notepad++ plugin manager

  • 14:37:16
    qstpp

thought it was the same for users

  • 14:38:36
    qstpp

but i see that that's project founder has no identicon set, only for his project

  • 14:38:57
    qstpp

    sorry for bothering and thanks!
