#134633 Tracker: System sorting hides defects

No

If the trackers are sorted by Priority, then they are no longer sorted by Tracker ID. This results in nothing short of chaos. Browsing the PCGen Feature Requests, looking 100 at a time, Tracker 890097 appears on both page 2 and page 5, meaning another tracker (or many trackers, since I doubt this is the only case) of the 473 or so that are open is completely invisible.

The old system successfully sorted by multiple columns - please bring it back until this defect in the new system can be corrected.

  • Hi Tom,

I'm trying to recreate this in your Tracker. I'm searching for 890097. Are you sorting from 9 (highest - first page) to 1 or 1 (highest - first page) to 9. What priority is this item? In searching for that from the Tracker search I'm not finding it at all.

I need to verify this so that the issue can be properly identified for the engineering team.

If you need anything else, please post a response to this request.

    Cheers!,

    apologies for the typo 870097

and sorted 9 first (at the top)

  • Tom,

Thank you for that. I was able to find it when sorting from low priority to high (pri 1's shown first). I found it on page 2 and page 4 showing 100 per page.

That's definitely something that we need to figure out. I have sent a note to the team as a high priority issue. I'll update you on this as soon as I hear back from them.

If you need anything else, please post a response to this request.

    Cheers!,

  • Tom,

We investigated this. This is an SQL effect that the engineering team is looking to address. There is not duplicate data, just repeated entries.

I'm assigning this to them for attention.

If you need anything else, please post a response to this request.

    Cheers!,

Attaching a file that shows the next three priority 5 defects when viewed 20 a at a time.

Please note that when combined with the first two uploaded images, this is definitive evidence that *defects are being hidden as they are viewed across pages*. This is the defect, which is not addressed by the Apr 1 09 19:57 comment.

Please upgrade this away from priority 1. This is not simply an issue of duplicate data, it is a critical issue of duplicate data *hiding otherwise valid and necessary trackers*, which are impossible to view without previously knowing the tracker ID and performing an explicit search - which is an unacceptable requirement.
