To who may consern:

we would like to change the CVS notify mail format
to "-U" instead of "-C" in the intermezzo project,
because it is more readable.

I have change the syncmail to use "-U 2" and checkin
to the CVSROOT. But the following the CVS mail
still using "-C" format.

I would like to know what do I need to do make those
change take effect?

Thank you very much.

    Greetings,

The changes you have made have not yet taken effect because
syncmail is not listed in the checkoutlist file. When files
are committed to a CVS repository, the updates are posted
against an RCS file; i.e. syncmail,v

CVS knows that it needs to generate non-RCS copies of its
control files when they are updated. It does not, however,
by default know that it will need to generate non-RCS
versions of any files you have added to the CVSROOT, i.e.
    syncmail.

So basically: 1) Add an entry for syncmail to the
checkoutlist and commit this change. 2) Perform any changes
you need to make to the syncmail and commit these changes.
At this point, CVS will automagically generate 'syncmail'
    from 'syncmail,v'.

This is covered in the CVS book, located at:
    http://cvsbook.red-bean.com/cvsbook.html#The_checkoutlist_File

Please let me know if I may be of further assistance in this
    matter.

    Thank you,
