#129659 can upload web files with sftp, but get 404

Matthew Gates

Following the changes to the upload procedure, detailed in

For example, I connected to web.sourceforge.net with the id: "matthewg42,stellarium" and using my regular sf password. This works fine. I use sftp to put a new file in the htdocs directory, which seemed to go fine:

$ sftp matthewg42,stellarium@web.sourceforge.net
Connecting to web.sourceforge.net...
matthewg42,stellarium@web.sourceforge.net's password:
sftp> cd htdocs
sftp> put indexnew.php
Uploading indexnew.php to /home/groups/s/st/stellarium/htdocs/indexnew.php
indexnew.php 100% 9007 8.8KB/s 00:01
sftp> chmod 664 indexnew.php
Changing mode on /home/groups/s/st/stellarium/htdocs/indexnew.php
sftp> ls -l indexnew.php
-rw-rw-r-- 0 215006 49857 9007 Sep 22 18:59 indexnew.php
sftp> bye

The problem comes when I try to access the file via the web site. It is as if it is not there. I get a 404 page (see below).

Any ideas what might be causing this? Is my DNS not set up right, or is there some sort of caching proxy which is not picking up the new file?

    Ah, of course - I should have check that. Feel silly now. Looks like it's a DNS thing then. Cheers.
