I have been trying to deploy a wireless network with
Aironet PCI 350 cards running in Ad-hoc mode with
external parabolic antennas installed on Linux boxes.
All is running fine when the distance between boxes is
less then couple of miles. When the distance is
ecreased to about 4 miles, the bandwidth drops
dramatically. The signal strength is not a problem
since both the Signal Strength feature on ACU and
measurements with spectrum analyzer indicate excellent
levels. I susect it is firmware or driver problems.
Has anyone had similar experiences and any ideas how
to alleviate this problem.
