Hi, I just bought a Aironet 4822B. After upgrading to Cisco Aironet AP340's firmware, the console and web interface is now showing 4800-E and the logo remains Aironet, not Cisco. Is this normal? From Cisco's website, the 4800B has identical hardware as the AP340. Obviously not everything got upgraded to Cisco's firmware. Any ideas? Thanks, Ian |

You have the exact same functionality - just slightly different packaging. I assume you have a "VAR Installation Key" in the flash filesystem when the AP boots up. That file is telling the AP that it is branded something other than Cisco, the 2 other choices being Aironet or Dell. Absolutely nothing to be concerned with - just minor cosmetic differences...
