if you are just joining this mailing list or found this email via a search
engine, welcome to the list!
I am sending this email as a reminder that this list is NOT Cisco supported
and should NOT be construed as a substitute for Cisco's Technical Assistance
Center (TAC). Most people who are on this list realize this, but there is
always the chance this list can be read out of context via a Google search =
Also, I want to make clear that am NOT nor ever have been affiliated with o=
TAC, and I have never made any pretense to this fact...
And I certainly do not speak for Cisco anything - TAC, Sales, Marketing etc=
my .sig will reflect this fact from now on.
Furthermore if my presence on this list IS confusing some customers, then I
will restrict my participation to replying privately to questions on the li=
and not to the list. This way my answers can't be taken out of context...
It has been brought to my attention that there is still some confusion on
what a customers recourse is in the event they lose their AP or Bridge's=20
This email in particular has been pointed out as being possibly misleading:
(Ben - would it be possible to remove that email from the archive? I know
google would still have a copy in its cache - but its a start)
I'm sending this email in an attempt to hopefully clear any misunderstandin=
about our official installation key replacement policy.
Cisco tech support can NOT supply you with a replacement installation key
via an email or the web.
However, you should contact the TAC to determine if the problem you are
experiencing is indeed being caused by a missing installation key
and not some other factor.
You can find more information on this problem here:
You can contact our TAC via email, telephone or by opening a case in the
TAC area on CCO:
In the event the problem is diagnosed as being caused by a missing
installation key, you will need to obtain an RMA number to return the
AP or Bridge.
I apologize for any misunderstanding I may have inadvertently caused.

Are there other Aironet-specific mailing lists?
Are there any Cisco-sponsored web forums or mailing
lists for Aironet products?
