Hi,

aide doesn't give any information about added removed
files besides the fact that they were added and/or
removed. This makes debugging harder, which is
especially bad in case of a removed entry: One does
not even see whether the removed entry was a file or
a directory.

I am currently debugging an issue where a file which
should be picked up by I and excluded from the report
is reported as removed at the old place and added at
the new place. Since I do not have the inode number
of the file at the old place, I need to wait for the
issue to reappear.

It would be a very good thing to have the old
database entry of an removed file and the new
database entry of a new file included in the aide
report like it is if the file were changed.

Greetings
Marc

I checked the source, and this is not real easy way to do
this. I can easily add 'directory' or 'file' to added or
removed items though, if that helps you.

Could you live with the added/removed files showing up in
the "Detailed information about changes" section? This
section will not be sorted by type.. so changes, additions
and removals would be mixed. They are easy to spot though,
because added items don't have old attributes and removed
    items don't have new attributes.

That's basically what I have been thinking.

  • This has been fixed in git (commit 05d3911), thanks.
