Dear Developer of AdSapient Ad Server Software<https://sourceforge.net/p/adsapient/> , This email is sent to you with a request to support an academic research study on Open Source Software Development. The online survey<http://sgiz.mobi/s3/049a0a1697a1> is part of larger research project conducted at Tel Aviv University and supported by the Israel Science Foundation. *Since your project is a key element in our research, we have made a great effort to locate you and send you this questionnaire.* We seek to study how knowledge is generated and diffused within, across, and beyond Open Source Software development projects. We do understand that this is not an simple quest, but we nevertheless have to make a serious attempt. If you have any questions or concerns about this study or suggestions on how this survey <http://sgiz.mobi/s3/049a0a1697a1> can be improved, please contact Professor Uriel Stettner<uri...@ta...?subject=Open%20Source%20Software%20Survey> To launch the online survey <http://sgiz.mobi/s3/049a0a1697a1>, please go to http://sgiz.mobi/s3/049a0a1697a1 At the end of the survey you will be invited to enter our sweepstake to win one of 10 $100 Amazon gift certificates. Hello everybody! The subscribers count currently is 4 but with new version of AdSapient available for download I hope to encrease this number since it's going to be much easier to install, use and develop AdSapient. What's new: 1. refactored architecture (separated gui, adserver, reporter into modules) 2. integrated Spring 3. added auto installer 4. refactored the project to use Hypersonic for ui database 5. removed some unused menus/features that were bringing confusion and were not properly tested Also I've moved repository from CVS to SVN on SF. I still haven't committed the source code but will do it soon. We are setting up Tomcat hosting for the demo of AdSapient. adsapient.com will also be hosted there. I've given my brother the task to convert php site to jsp. Let's see the result soon. Thanks, Vitaly a.k.a geniot |

Hello, those few members of AdSapient mail list. I have just finished testing AdSapient on Tomcat. I had to provide db connection through Tomcat which I think is not good since Hibernate is using org.hibernate.cache.EhCacheProvider for caching. Anyway in the future I'm going to write a performance unit test that can help us to judge such cases. Good news: I'm working on moving AdSapient to Spring-Webwork-Jasper combo frameworks. Basically this should bring a lot of new opportunities for feature development. But I'm still in the beginning of this refactoring. The good thing is that all methods are already written, the bad - you have to refactor them from static to Spring bean paradigm. I'm thinking about creating a branch in CVS with this refactoring progress . Anyone out there interested? Also I've been contacted by a person who is interested in video ad support in an ad server. So maybe we are going to work in that direction as well. I'm on vacations starting 10th July for 2 weeks.
