Download the latest ACX tar:
Untar it to a folder of your choice. I have /home/*username*/install/acx.
Download the "karmic" patch into that folder:
open a terminal, cd to that folder and run this code:
patch -p0 < acx_karmic.patch
You can then run this code:
make -C /lib/modules/`uname -r`/build M=`pwd`
Then as Root:
make -C /lib/modules/`uname -r`/build M=`pwd` modules_install
I prefer to make an *acx* folder in
> /lib/modules/*your kernel*/source/drivers/net/wireless
copy the patched acx source into it then in a root terminal at
> /lib/modules/*your kernel*/source
make modules_install && make install
This creates and installs a *your kernel*custom.
Grub adds it to the boot list, make it *default* in MCC - Boot - Set up boot system.
Boot into it and setup your wireless connection. It will run on every boot with no complaints.
This takes quite a bit of time, most of it unattended, but seems to make more reliable module for my TIACX device.
By the way put your firmware in:
