I have HP Pavilion N5490 aka OmniBook. After trying for years in win32 and linux
with the acpi patches to get the fan to turn on when the thing is hot, I have
purchased a fan that clips to the desk and blows air on the laptop.
HP says fan turns on with CPU temps trigger, I used acpi /proc info to verify this.
However when I boot to a DOS floppy the fan turns on BEFORE then, when the laptop
feels hot on the bottom. No OS and/or kernal acpi commands could duplicate what the
BIOS does on its own.
I'm happy to report the external fan works fine. Good work on the other areas of
ACPI though, thanks.
That's "angle" as in geometry.
