Summary: Wake via RTC fails with S1 and S4
Kernel Version: 2.6.8
Hardware Environment: 855PM Centrino
Software Environment: console
Problem Description: It appears that the RTC isn't being set correctly to wake
the machine. I have tried S3 and S5 and both seem to wake the machine
correctly. I have also found that the system time doesn't get updated by the
RTC during S4 resume.
Steps to reproduce: Boot to console
check system time date
set /proc/acpi/alarm time to ~2-5 minutes into future
verify alarm set
echo 4 > /proc/acpi/sleep
System powers down and works correctly but never wakes.
hit power button
check RTC hwclock
check system date
The system clock will usally have lost all time for when the machine was
powered down but the RTC will be dead on. Althought this doesnt happen with in
S1 only S4 as far as the clock loosing time. S1 just never wakes until power
button is pressed or keyboard hit. Missing the Alarm time.
Hope that helps.
