Work at SourceForge, help us to make it a better place! We have an immediate need for a Support Technician in our San Francisco or Denver office.
I am an assistant editor in film production and I have very basic skills in programming (applescript and currently learning C++) I want to lean how to manipulate an aaf for various work flows on Avid but have no idea where to start.
Could someone advise me of a path to learning how to program in aaf?
Thanks in advance
Just to get you started… AAF isn't a programming language. It's a file format (like WAV or PDF) so you'd typically write your program in a language that you're confident with (one that can link to the AAF DLLs of course).
I don't think there's a good way to learn about AAF apart from trial and error. There's some reference documentation but I doubt if there are any 'Teach Yourselff' books about AAF, like there'd be for C++ or Visual Basic say. Most people probably teach themselves.
