  • English Wiki ready

Barneveld, July 12, 2009 - After the Dutch Wikibooks was implemented in April 2009, now the English Wiki has been reported as ready and implemented in the stable version of the webbased software suite that Covide is with CRM, Groupware, Project administration, HRM, Support and service management and CMS.

Covide has started in 1999 in the Netherlands as an open source project for a total solution for customer relation management and working together as a team. A few months after the Dutch Wiki now also a complete English version has been released.

The Wiki's serve in the first place an always available and most current Covide guide. In addition Covide also declares it as important for the use in further in-depth communication with users later this year.

In the beginning of this year Covide came up with a complete new interface. And as we speak, the test-release (Beta) of the integration with Google Apps is important news. Especially for Google announces next year in the wake of its Chrome browser and Android operating system for mobile phones a complete new Open Source operating system with strong roots towards the web. Covide sees this as the Google frontal attack on rival Microsoft.

Later this summer Covide will come with a totally new module for project administration.

  • Covide bounty page for PHP developers

Barneveld, July 6, 2009 - Covide is developed through an Open Source project. Good PHP developers are welcome to contribute. This can be done now through the new bounty Covide page.

Because we still have a lot of nice work to do for freelance developers, we have decided to create a so-called Bounty page.

From today, any developer can directly contribute to the Covide project. Just surf to the new bounty page, read our brief introductory comments, choose to your choice and get to work. When we release your contribution after beta release in stable version immediately payment followes.

So wait no longer and immediately go to http://sourceforge.net/apps/trac/covide/wiki/Bounty

And if your not a developer, but you know someone who might be interested in a nice extra income? Tim him or her immediately.

Together we make Covide even better than it already is.

  • Covide announces more cooperation customer and supplier

Barneveld, March 6, 2009 - Covide has always been developed for and with customers. A survey at the end of 2008 showed that at this point more review was required. A new system is now in support. The previously announced adaptive maintenance is also included.

Cooperation between supplier and client is more often the driver of succes used by open source companies. By growing the customer base it is often difficult to maintain the overview. That research showed customers at the end of 2008 and then early this year in setting up the new developer's pool. With the deployment of the (open source) program TRAG this is change by Covide. Customers and developers can now report errors and reporting requirements in a structured manner. In addition, visitors also can view published 'tickets' by other users including the time of inclusion in the stable version of Covide.

For users and developers the new system gives a clear roadmap. To lower treshold in the cooperation between users and developers, the basis under the new system is WiKi, as also used, for example, by the Internet encyclopedia WiKi-pedia. A start is made. And the expectation is that the Manual in WiKi will be available before July 2009.

Covide is written in PHP and currently looking for developers to meet the increasing customer demands. Developers can make a proof of concept (the adequate resolution of some outstanding tickets) to become accredited and structurally involved in the project. There are both not and well-paid jobs.

Homepage of the new system is http://apps.sourceforge.net/trac/covide/wiki

  • Message for developers who want to join our developersteam

Developers have to be accredited before we give permission to join our developersteam.

    Accreditation is simple to become.

Just choose two requests to resolve and mail them to projectleader Michiel van Baak. He will then ensure for three weeks, that no more those requests can be chosen by other developers.

So you normally will have three weeks to resolve both requests. If you need more time, please act on time in contact with Michiel.

In case of technical questions you can always e-mail him right.

When Michael agrees with the solutions you sent, you will be accredited and allowed to CVS and SVN on SourceForge. But be asure of this: Michiel should really be convinced. We want quality not quantity.
