    This release contains the changes accumulated over the two years since the last release. It is also intended to be the final one, due to relatively low interest recently. See the notes for more details.

  • dxr3Player 0.10 released - Experimental Unichrome support

    The most important new feature is the capability to play DVDs using VIa's Unichrome (CLE266) chipset.

    Other changes include: handling of the EXIT instruction, forced root menu display, saving/restoring DVD playback state, 3 speeds for fast forward/backward. Some bugs have also been fixed.

  • dxr3Player 0.9 released - Not only for DXR3 anymore!

    The most important new feature is the capability to play DVDs using any X Window System display with a sufficiently fast machine. Note, that DXR3 support remains and continues to be supported!

    Other changes include: DVD ISO images and directories can be played, DTS audio is passed through to SPDIF, brightness, contrast and saturation control, French documentation, GCC 3.4 support.

  • dxr3Player 0.8 released

    With this release configuration settings can be stored in a file. Complete DVDs can be dumped onto the hard disk and played back. The language to use for audio and/or subtitles can be forced, as well as the region the player "pretends" to be able to play. A fixed audio delay can be specified.

  • dxr3Player 0.7 released

    This release adds support for MPEG audio streams, caching of DVD keys, and cycling audio and subtitle streams. The playback of linear PCM streams has also been fixed: 48 kHz, 16-bit stereo ones now work.
