EGS is changing
From June 1st 2009 Severn Delta are taking over the responsibility for the development of EGS.
For the last few years Severn Delta Limited have been collaborating with Senokian Solutions to develop EGS for use in manufacturing. Lots of work has been going on in the background to develop the EGS framework and additional modules.
We'll be letting you have an insight into where we are up to and our future plans over the next few days and weeks.

EGS2 Beta 1
It has been a while since our last release but we have been putting together a complete rebuild of the EGS system with loads of new functionality and a new framework.
Today we have pleasure in announcing the first beta release for EGS2 and would love for people to test the new version and give us their feedback. We have been using this version for 6 months but it would as always feedback would be fantastic.
There is a new trac instance for EGS2 at http://trac.enterprisegroupwaresystem.org where you can report issues, or discuss them on either the new egs-general, or egs-developers lists. The new version is available on sf.net at http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=81764 and the release notes are below.

Modules enabled by default are Contacts, CRM and Projects. These are considered stable, and should be problem-free for most people.
Ticketing and Calendar are also available, though these are known to contain some issues, and more testing is definitely required.
Enable these by going to System Admin, then 'All System Companies', then 'Default Company'. The modules listed there that aren't available have been taken out of this release as they are not considered ready for general use. They are in the latest svn versions though, so if you do want to take a look, then look at the website for instructions.
