Blue HttpMailProxy is retiring
Blue HttpMailProxy is an application that acts as a POP, IMAP and SMTP proxy to provide access to HTTPMail email servers (such as Hotmail, MSN, and Lycos).
From now on, Blue HttpMailProxy isn't going to be actively maintained. (If you're interested in the reasons why, see http://bhttpmail.sourceforge.net/#news)
I hope you've enjoyed using the software as much as I enjoyed helping to write and support it!

Blue HttpMailProxy Version 0.5.6 Re-released
Blue HttpMailProxy is an application that acts as a POP, IMAP and SMTP proxy to provide access to HTTPMail email servers (such as Hotmail, MSN, and Lycos).
The 32-bit Windows binary package for version 0.5.6 (available at http://downloads.sourceforge.net/bhttpmail/HttpMailProxy-v0.5.6.zip) has been re-released to correct an error in the example configuration file. Unfortunately, the error caused a crash in the application upon startup - a bug which has been fixed and will be present in the next release - so if anyone found this problem prevented them from using the application, please have another go!

Blue HttpMailProxy Version 0.5.6 Released
Blue HttpMailProxy is an application that acts as a POP, IMAP and SMTP proxy to provide access to HTTPMail email servers (such as Hotmail, MSN, and Lycos).
Version 0.5.6 contains fixes for two long-standing bugs, as well as adding two new features. The 32-bit Windows binary can be downloaded from http://downloads.sourceforge.net/bhttpmail/HttpMailProxy-v0.5.6.zip or the source code can be downloaded from http://downloads.sourceforge.net/bhttpmail/HttpMailProxy_Source-v0.5.6.zip.
Bug 1863528 related to the treatment of multipart MIME messages within the IMAP proxy. In Thunderbird, this bug caused the display of a completely blank window when attempting to open such a message, because Thunderbird became so confused that it simply gave up on displaying the message. Bug 1844380 caused the application to reauthenticate against the server unnecessarily, which caused a substantial reduction in performance on most operations.
The first new feature makes it possible to configure the SMTP proxy to automatically save a copy of every sent message in the HTTPMail sent items folder. (For more information, see Docs/Setup.common file within the release.) The second new feature is an implementation of the APPEND command within the IMAP proxy, which allows copying messages onto a HTTPMail server. This feature can also be used to copy sent messages onto the server (if you configure your email client appropriately) but it also supports saving draft emails onto the HTTPMail server.
As ever, there are some further minor tweaks and changes that aren't worth mentioning, but that hopefully make the application just a little bit better!
Enjoy!

Blue HttpMailProxy Version 0.5.5 Released
Blue HttpMailProxy is an application that acts as a POP, IMAP and SMTP proxy to provide access to HTTPMail email servers (such as Hotmail, MSN, and Lycos).
Version 0.5.5 adds official support for POSIX systems, as well as fixing a long-standing bug and improving the IMAP proxy. The 32-bit Windows binary can be downloaded from http://downloads.sourceforge.net/bhttpmail/HttpMailProxy-v0.5.5.zip or the source code can be downloaded from http://downloads.sourceforge.net/bhttpmail/HttpMailProxy_Source-v0.5.5.zip.
The big news for this release is official support for Blue HttpMailProxy on platforms that support the POSIX standard, in addition to 32-bit Windows. The code has been tested extensively on a variety of Linux machines and I am now happy that it runs well enough for an official release. Details on how to build the application can be found in the source zip file under HttpMailProxy/Compiling.win32 and HttpMailProxy/Compiling.posix.
In addition, a fix has been made for a bug that occurred when multiple clients were accessing the same HTTPMail account. Previously, Blue HttpMailProxy would get confused about which message was which if a third party deleted a message (e.g. via the web interface to Hotmail). Happily, that problem is now gone.
Finally, support for the IMAP SEARCH command has been added, which allows support for a number of new email clients, including the iPhone! As always, a number of other minor improvements have been made internally, although most of them are too small to mention.
Enjoy!

Blue HttpMailProxy Version 0.5.4 Ported to POSIX
Blue HttpMailProxy is an application that acts as a POP, IMAP and SMTP proxy to provide access to HTTPMail email servers (such as Hotmail, MSN, and Lycos).
Version 0.5.4 has been ported to platforms that support the POSIX standard. The updated source code for version 0.5.4 can be downloaded from http://downloads.sourceforge.net/bhttpmail/HttpMailProxy_Source-v0.5.4.zip.
Since POSIX covers so many platforms, I have not posted any binary builds (apart from the existing Win32 build). To build the source code, you will need a recent version of Scons (available from http://www.scons.org) and g++ (I have successfully built the code with 3.4 and 4.1). Hopefully, it should be reasonably simple - I know that you are a resourceful lot!
I have been testing this code for some time under Linux and it appears to be (more or less) as stable as the Win32 build. However, as ever, no guarantees are made about stability and so on, since this really is a preliminary effort. But if you have any problems, please pay a visit to the forums.
Enjoy!
