  • LameFE 3.0 Beta 1

    LameFE 3.0 Beta 1 is ready for download!

    This is the first public test release of LameFE 3.0. New features include:

    - Support for Windows Vista
    - New redesigned userinterface
    - Almost completly rewritten core
    - New default settings
    - New more powerfull filename setups
    - Better resampling support
    - Moved Wave and Ogg/vorbis encoders
    into the core (previously plugins)
    to optimize encoding speed
    - Redesigned and much simpler settings

    Known issues:
    - MusicBrainz support is not yet moved
    to MusicBrainz v3
    - MusicBrainz Disc calculation fails for Music
    CDs with extra data track
    - Batch-Mode is not configurable yet (via dialog)
    - maybe more.... :-?

    for licensing reasons the lame encoder is not included anymore and must be obtained seperatly

  • LameFE 3.0 ready for Windows Vista

    The new LameFE 3.0, the first beta will be released on the next weekend, is now ready for Windows Vista. LameFE 3.0 has been rewritten from the scratch and is now easier to use, more stable and even faster then the previous releases, with support for dual core processors and hyperthreading.

  • LameFE 2.4.0 released

    LameFE 2.4.0 has been released to replace the two years old lameFE 2.2.x series.

    LameFE has been completly reworked. It features a new GUI and a new Plugin system. Among the new features are multi-core/-cpu support, a very complex and powerfull, yet easy to use, filename-setup-system and much more.

  • LameFE 2.3 Alpha 11 available for testing

    LameFE 2.3 Alpha 11 has been released for testing.

    - Fixed wrong error message displayed for
    users without permission to access local CD drives
    - Started to write Help-file. F.A.Q. and small parts
    of the documentation are now included with LameFE
    - Fixed "FreeDB timeout-value is ignored"-bug
    - Rewrote parser for FreeDB.ini files and
    changed the format of the file.
    - Added detailed error messages to decoder and encocder
    engines

    - Fixed bug in Ogg decoder causing audio-clipping.
    - Applied a one line patch to Ogg decoder for
    ogg files with malformed headers

    - Fixed a memory leak when reading ogg vorbis tags
    - Fixed display-bug when clicking 'Apply' in
    the configuration dialog
    - Fixed crashbug when clicking on 'Clear' in
    the tag editor
    - Fixed TLEN-Tag bug (MP3)
    - Rewrote CI18n::TranslateDialog(...) using pure
    Win32 API now instead of MFC for more reliable
    processing (curse RUNTIMECLASS(CTempWnd)!)
    - When saving settings the language-file will
    now only be loaded when the language has changed
    to speed things a bit up ;)
