The Fire Development team is happy to announce the release of Fire 1.5.6. This universal binary works on both PowerPC and Intel Macintosh computers running Mac OS 10.2.8 or higher.

This release focuses on fixes in the following areas:
- Crash when Fire is speaking a message
- Dragging Tabs & Groups works correctly
- Automatic Translation speedup
- Buddy Text Encodings are saved for irc and ICQ conversations

Announcing version 1.5.5 of Fire, the multi-protocol IM application for Mac OS X.

Now a Universal Binary! - The main feature in this release is that Fire is now a Universal binary which natively supports the new Intel based Macintosh computers announced today.

A few critical bugs in AIM, MSN, and TextToSpeech were also fixed in this release.

Firebrand 0.6 is now available. Firebrand is a theme editor for Fire. It allows you to bundle icons,
smileys, sounds, and colors into themes to allow easy customization
of the interface. Themes require Fire 0.99 or later.

This is a huge release with improvements across the board. The highlights include Oscar support (AIM file send, .mac support, typing notifications, away message reading, direct IM receive), upgraded ICQ library, MSN file send and receive, upgraded Yahoo library, Jabber SSL support, updated Help files, and improved handling of server buddy lists in AIM Oscar, MSN, and Yahoo.

Fire .31.e is available. Of note are a fix for the constant Yahoo crashing problems that showed up recently. Also, we now send MSN typing notifications.

This week Fire has entered the SourceForge top 20 most active projects, coming in at #17 today. This is the highest ranking Fire has ever received as far as I know.
