xIrc-2.3.8 released
NightBird announces the release of xIrc-2.3.8. This distribution includes source, source RPM, and i386 binary RPM file, which was compiled on SuSE Linux 7.0 using Qt-2.2.4. The home page for xIrc is http://www.linuxlots.com/~xirc/ and the alternate web page, hosted by SourceForge is located at http://xIrc.sourceforge.net.
Summary of changes are a fix to configuring source file to select the proper Qt files in Linux distributions and minor bug fixes.
The project administrator is NightBird (aka Robert Borrell <borrell@pobox.com>). xIrc was originally developed by Joe Croft <joe@croftj.net>

Happy Anniversary
The xIrc project has been with SourceForget (http://sourceforge.net) for one year now. The project team thanks its user base for its support and patronage. With the new release of KDE 2.1, KDevelop 1.4, and Qt-2.2.4 (or higher), the project team will investigate these new releases and incorporate new features.

Qt-2.3 Released
Troll Tech (http://www.trolltech.com) releases version 2.3 of the Qt GUI. The following link contains information regarding the new release of Qt - http://www.trolltech.com/company/announce/qt-230.html. At this time the xIrc project is still working with Qt-2.1.1.
xIrc - an X11 based IRC client - is written in C++ and the Trolltech Qt widgets library GUI. xIrc (http://www.linuxlots/~xirc/) is managed by NightBird (nightbird at users dot sourceforge dot net).
