An error in the use of eta_l to be fixed in the next release
Prior to January 12, 2007, the calibration algorithms in GBTIDL at all NRAO sites had an error where, instead of using 0.99 for the rear spillover efficiency (eta_l), it was using 1/0.99. Those observers who used the default units of Ta are not affected by this error. Only those that explicitly specified a unit of Ta* or Jy to the calibration routines would be affected. The magnitude of the error is 2%, smaller than the advertised accuracy of the calibration routines.
This fix is now in place at all NRAO sites and it will appear in the next GBTIDL release, scheduled for mid-February 2007.

SDFITS Filler no longer no longer applies a Hanning window
As of Feb. 15, the SDFITS filler no longer applies a Hanning window to your data. The smoothing effects of windowing should no longer be apparent in data filled after that date. Although this is not a change in GBTIDL, because SDFITS is the primary path for data to get in to GBTIDL, GBTIDL users should understand the implications of this change. For a more detailed discussion of this change visit: http://wiki.gb.nrao.edu/bin/view/Data/SdfitsHanningRemoved
