ufdbGuard v1.17 - a URL filter for Squid
ufdbGuard v1.17 has been released to fix 2 minor bugs and to extend the list of SafeSearch search engines.
One of the bugs were 2 debug print statement which caused the log files to be very large and possibly causing a performance problem for very large environments. Therefore all users of version 1.16 are advised to upgrade to version 1.17.

Who needs a URL filter?
Everybody needs a URL filter.
ufdbGuard is free and fast. ufdbGuards works with Squid and besides blocking websites, it can also enforce SafeSearch for many search engines, detect HTTPS tunnels and block HTTPS websites that have no valid certificate.
Version 1.15 is released and adds support for SafeSearch for more search engines, a GUI based on webmin and gives more feedback during the installation procedure.

ufdbGuard version 1.14 needed fix
A bug in the SafeSearch code led to strange errors on Ebay. This is fixed in version 1.14b on November 30 2007.

ufdbGuard URL filter is improved
With the release of Version 1.14 ufdbGuard is the fastest URL filter for Squid with over 50,000 URL verifications/sec.
This release includes 2 fixes related to multithreading issues introduced in version 1.13.
The ufdbGuard software suite is extended with an analysis tool which reads the Squid access log file and a lightweigth http daemon that can only be used to display the URL redirection messages (a.k.a. the "no access" messages).
SafeSearch enforcement is extended with 2 search engines and for Yahoo video search and 6 minor fixes are also included.
All users are recommended to upgrade to version 1.14. More information is available at the

ufdbGuard v1.12 - URL filter for Squid
after 9 months, the new release of the fastest URL filter for Squid is out.
It has new features to detect unsecure usage of https, more logging options and has better control over the size of logfiles.
It also has 2 fixes. The most important one is a fix to always block proxies which are dynamically detected.
