Linguistic Tree Constructor version 3.0.3 has been released:http://ltc.sourceforge.net/download.htmlLinguistic Tree Constructor is a free, libre, Open Source Software program for drawing linguistic syntax trees of text. Its main distinctive is that it assists you in data production: You can very quickly draw up a lot of syntax trees using LTC. Whereas other programs focus on showing pretty trees of single sentences for publication, LTC aims to speed up the data production process, e.g., when needing data for bootstrapping a parser. The main changes over 3.0.2 are:- Two obscure bugs have been fixed.- You can now, from within the program, visit the web page for subscribing to the mailing lists. Also, the Windows installer will optionally take you to the same page after the installer is done.Enjoy!Ulrik Sandborg-Petersen

LTC 3.0.0 released
Hello,I have released LTC version 3.0.0.http://ltc.sourceforge.net/downloads.htmlBinaries are provided for Windows (2000/XP/2003/Vista), Mac OS X (Tiger, Leopard -- Universal), and Linux.Release notes are below.Enjoy!Ulrik Sandborg-Petersen3.0.0=====This is a release with major feature-enhancements.As announced in the release-notes for version 2.8.0, the followingchanges have been implemented:- Support for the non-Unicode versions of LTC has been removed. This means that LTC no longer runs on Windows 95, 98, 98SE, or ME.- The file-format was changed to an XML-based format, with an .ltcx extension.- LTC no longer supports _writing_ the old *.ltc file format. The old *.ltc file format can still be _read_, provided it originated in a *.gen file or a *.txt file, and provided the text strings in the .ltc file are either encoded with Unicode, or are in the ISO-LATIN-1 encoding (or a mix of both).- Support for the following file formats has been removed: *.TCC, *.ps2, *.gk, *.gk2, *.thd, *.hdb, *.PAK, *.IPA.In addition, the following changes were made:- LTC is now much faster for most operations. This is especially noticeable for large files with thousands of Words.- The state of the interface is saved in the .ltcx file, including: - Magnification of the display - Whether the document is right-to-left or left-to-right. - The font-names of each interlinear line - The state (on/off) of each interlinear line - The side-panel information (syntax nodes, phrase types, and label sets). Upon closing a file, the side-panels are returned to their defaults.- When a collapsed node "hides" the selection, LTC no longer colors the "plus" beside the collapsed node black.- The "Clause" and "Clause Cluster" buttons were taken out, along with the corresponding menu-items. Instead, the "syntax nodes" panel at the bottom left of the window now has a "Clause" entry. Note that the user is free to add a "Clause Cluster" entry if they so wish. See Appendix B of the LTC User's Guide for more information on how to do this.- The "Promote" and "Demote" functionality was taken out, since it had to do with the special node type "clause cluster", which is no longer present.- The "Export to Annotation Graph XML" functionality was removed. If anyone wishes to have this functionality reinstated, please contact the author via email: http://ltc.sourceforge.net/contact.html- The label panel can now be resized.- When exporting to Emdros MQL, the user is given the opportunity to set the starting id_d and the starting monad, and also to decide whether to emit the MQL schema.

Linguistic Tree Constructor version 2.8.1 released
Hot on the heels of version 2.8.0, its younger brother, version 2.8.1, has been released.
Version 2.8.1 fixes a critical bug (on Windows) whereby the "File --> New" command would crash the program. Other platforms are not affected.
The goods can be had from here:
