I was confused too, on Mac. For the selection of the target directory
the javax.swing.JFileChooser is being used, and it behaves slightly
different on different platforms. Here's how I configure it:
JFileChooser fileChooser = new JFileChooser(currentDirectory);
// the filter is at the moment only used for the title of the dialog:
int returnValue = fileChooser.showDialog(_browse,
So if there are experts on JFileChooser on different platforms who can
improve the handling, please let me know.

Plain GUI stuff: Middle of February (although I hope earlier), and
given I can reproduce the error reported.
Build process: difficult to estimate for me at the moment (see below).

IMHO if something runs at the user's site, then it would be fair to
ship sources and classes. And chances are higher that we get qualified
feedback or patches. I'm open for a different package name, though.

That's my idea too. I know that it is possible to create a .jar file
with a manifest using ant. We do this for our software, and I can
surely 'monkey see - monkey do' from there.

Not looked at it yet.
Where would such an ant task run, on one of our local machines,
Where do we get some of the files from, which are not under cvs
control, such as all the 'missing' /Lib/*.py files like unittest.py ?
I currently have a jython Eclipse project checked out from
cvs.sourceforge.net/cvsroot/jython. Would it be ok to start building
from there, using Ant 1.6.2 ?
