Ahh, I think I see the problem. I think you want to be able to start
your gumstix with a command prompt, but without having to login, i.e.
type a username and password?
The instructions you've been following are to remove the shell - your
gumstix is starting up all the services you've asked for (hopefully
including Rendezvous, if that install went to plan) and then waiting
until it's asked to do something. You won't be able to enter any
commands because the gumstix hasn't started a shell to interpret them.
Does that make sense, or am I completely off the mark?
Of course, having got that far, I have no idea how to achieve what I
think you're trying to do :-)
