No, kernel 2.4.4 does NOT come with imon. In fact, imon doesn't patch into
2.4.4, at least not cleanly. 2.4.3 is the last kernel that I've gotten imon
to succesfully patch into. This might be your problem, but typically if
imon isn't available fam will stop trying to connect to imon and just start
polling.
