[Geoserver-devel] auto update of udig

Hello, How is the auto update going to work when there is a version change from 1.0.X to 1.1.X to 1.2.X to ...2.0.X? I can control updates on server side by updating PostgreSQL, PostGIS, Geoserver etc.. plus any new application specific files. Once I distribute the uDig client and install in 50-100 places, I want to make sure everybody runs the same version to reduce support headaches.. Is it possible to bundle all the incremental changes in a jar which can be unpacked on next start of uDig? I was reading on the uDig website that from 1.1 ver of uDig it will be auto updated.. I want it to be as transparent as possible to the end user. If nobody is working on this particular feature I may be able to volunteer. Cross posting it to the geoserver devel guys too, some of you may get duplicate emails. Apologies in advance for the extra email.
