ID3v2 is the most bloated and complicated specification I ever tried to
implement (which are, admittedly not many).
Most quirks arise from compatibilty issues (because mp3 files are
streams they had originally no _file_ header).
Therefore ID3v2 is just not file type independant. Also it is binary
data. I thought, we got over that since XML.
