Hi All success I now have the 1.0.11 snapshot installed but I'm still puzzled the installers shortcut icon on the desktop still didn't work so I deleted
the icon on the desktop and made another shortcut this one has the Working directory the same as
the msys.bat in other words it doesn't open in the bin directory but it still works with gcc well
enough to compile a program I added the msys variable to my autoexecute.bat file and rebooted before I tried installing so that might have helped I have not tried to use perl yet it might not be so easy to please. Thanks for taking the time AD
