I installed release candidate 1 over a 0.6 installation, and overall, it
looks good. Here are a few very minor issues.
There's a tiny typo in the installer. When installing over an existing .6
installation, a dialog box will pop up with the text "Would you like to save
you existing profile." I may have misquoted the wording, but the point is
that the "you" should be "your."
I'm using a bookmark file from Phoenix 0.3 (so, Mozilla, basically), and one
of the bookmark names contains an ampersand (i.e., "Arts & Letters"). In
the bookmark.html file, this ampersand is indicated by the entity "&".
The bookmark plugin displays the HTML entity literally instead of an
ampersand (i.e., "Arts & Letters"). The same issue occurs if a bookmark
folder name contains an ampersand.
Last and least, I had a problem in which, for lack of a better description,
the K-Meleon menus began to "shake" as if they were rapidly repainting
themselves. I then noticed that the problem was happening with other apps'
menus. When I closed K-Meleon, kmeleon.exe crashed, but the problem
immediately stopped. As I cannot yet reproduce it and I don't have better
details, this is probably the last mention I'll make of it.
I'm very happy with the way the browser's turning out. All of the
developers and testers on this list are doing an amazing job.
