Hi Marcus, I decided not to include .tgz's for a couple of reasons. Most users download the zipped version, and as far as I know it's relatively easy to unzip from most platforms. I'd be happy to add the tgzs into future releases if there was demand for it - but you're the first person to mention it actually ...
