If the original submission has a topic associated with it then the =
little ^MainPage^ box includes MainPage and the selected topic; I don't =
have to add it manually. (I'm using cvs version from early December.)
The topic in question is a direct child of MainPage. I have no nexus =
topics other than MainPage, and only one skin (associated with the =
MainPage nexus topic).
I think my final assessment is probably close: to post a story to a =
topic and not have it show up on MainPage, that topic must have a parent =
(or grandparent) topic that is a nexus, and there must be a skin =
associated with that nexus. If there isn't one then the story will have =
no primaryskid and will not appear anywhere (unless the min weights are =
set such that the story ends up being rendered into MainPage anyway).

mainpage? (ugh, a nexus question)

Now, first off, forgive me, I've been on an Xcode/Cocoa kick lately, so=20
I've not touched anything-slash-related for quite some time, my memory=20
Anyway, generally when I do a new story I see the interface with the -=20
and +, and it starts with
| ^Mainpage^ |
| ^Sectional^ |
If I add a topic to that story, and that topic has a parent of 'index',=20
but I don't want this particular story to show up on the=20
mainpage-index, I think all I've ever done is use the +/- key to shift=20
that topic down in the order. Such that when I'm done, it is under=20
What version of Slash are you running?
It would be interesting to see your topic hierarchy with direct=20
references to the actual topic that you are trying to do this with.
