The Stargate is an embedded computer, right? If you're asking whether
Player can run on that platform, the answer is yes. Player has been
cross-compiled for several ARM-based machines, including the Stayton
(Intel's first XScale-based board). So if, for example, you want to
control an AmigoBot with a Stargate computer, there's no problem, no
drivers to write. See the FAQ for help on cross-compiling Player.
Now, if you want to control a different kind of robot (perhaps an Acroname
product), then you would have to write a driver. Your best best is to
look through the existing Player drivers to find one most similar to your
application and use it as template. If you provide some details of the
robot (e.g., is it controlled via a serial port, what kind of sensors
and actuators does it have) we can give advice on how to proceed.
