I am including your RFE text below for everybody on the list.
Personaly, I'm not a big fan of opening new windows. I hate popup =20
windows and would not like to let the website decide how I manage my =20
windows. However, making galleries into separate pages might be a good =20
idea, regargless of whether we go with the popup or just a link to =20
If I understand your suggestion correctly, you'd like to have separate =20
galleries for each event, place, etc. I wonder if it would be better to =20
have a single gallery per person, and just include all pictures there =20
broken down into events, places, etc. sections.
Having said that, I think this option should be configurable. Some =20
users have 2-3 pictures per person, in which case separate page is more =20
of an overhead than help.
I am thinking of adding the whole new tab in the Web Page configuration =20
dialog titled Images. It would contain "Image subdirectory" path =20
(currently in "Report options" tab), sizes for main thumbnail and =20
secondary thumbnails, and the "Place gallery in a separate page" =20
checkbutton. If checked, all the references from Events, Places, etc =20
will be linked to a separate page (I37_gallery.html for person I37). If =20
not checked, the Galery section should have all images (including those =20
from events, places, etc).
Before I go ahead and start implementing this, I would very much like =20
to hear more opinions from interested parties. It's better to get it =20
right the first time rather than completely re-write it several times.

Currently, only the images from the persons gallery
appear in the automatically generated website. Also,
they appear as a vertical list with thumbnails which
lengthens the person summary page.
Why not, for the person him/her self and for each event
and for each place that appears in the summary have a
link next to it marked as gallery (or indeed make the
name of the event or place a gallery link in its own
right). This way, the summary will not be cluttered
with loads of images that may or may not want to be
viewed and load time is always fast and all images from
all the relevant galleries are always be available.
When the user clicks on an individual gallery link,
that particularly gallery of thumbnails is displayed in
a separate browser window so that the original context
is not lost. As the user clicks on each image, the
detailed image is displayed as per normal.
Well, just a thought, it seems a natural way of
displaying just what the user wants at any particular
point in the tree. I am sure that this functionality
would map well into the process of automatically
