Hi,

this is is rbbr.pot translated to German.
If you add it to CVS I'll try it to make sure that everything fits well.

I translated it to Portuguese from Brazil. There is
Portuguese from Portugal that's too different and
usually has its own translation. The name of the file
takes that into consideration: ptbr.po

I believe the attached itit.po should work, but
actually I don't have a clue of how this translation
stuff works, so I just looked at the other .po and I
tried to do the same: put translation in msgstr.
The file encoding is utf-8 like the others.

I need to check with the gnome localization team if
there are substantial differences beetween it_IT and it_CH.

I could not find suitable common translations, or
thought that some (like Accel, ID and Label) should
stay in the english form anyway.

I just talked with some people from the gnome
localization team and they helped me to solve last
doubts, so I send you a completed it.po .

It seem that a gnome localization team for it_ch does
not exist, so I believe this .po fits for any it_* :)

FWIW, I'm not even aware of differences beetween it_ch
and it_it, I always wondered why different locales
exist.

I added it to CVS as po/it/rbbr.po.
It means it will be installed in /usr/share/locale/it/LC_MESSAGES/.

I finally managed to test my locale.
But before that I had to install racc and ruby-gettext and it took some
time and googling to realize what was needed.
And for me after the installation rbbr was not usable because it's
linefeeds were in Dos-format. I got the following error:
': bad interpreter: Datei oder Verzeichnis nicht gefunden'
Which means: file not found.
I therefore had to issue a 'dos2unix rbbr' and reinstall it.
After that rbbr appeared in German. :)

Some comments:

All those <separator>s don't need to be translated:
lib/rbbr/ui/gtk/browser.rb:76
lib/rbbr/ui/gtk/browser.rb:81
lib/rbbr/ui/gtk/browser.rb:84
lib/rbbr/ui/gtk/browser.rb:86

#: lib/rbbr/ui/gtk/libselectiondialog.rb:26
msgid "Select a library"
I think "Select libraries" would fit better.

#: lib/rbbr/ui/gtk/stockbrowser.rb:33
msgid "Selected Item - Gtk::IconSize"
The frame's label is not updated when another stock item is selected.

Since the search term acts like a filter for the class / module list I'd
suggest a "Clear Search" button or something similar. Searching for an
empty string to make the list reapear is unconvenient.

Excellent, seems that RBBR now supports a lot of new languages :-) 
That's really cool, thanks to all translators.  I cc' Mitario because
IIRC he was OK to produce a Dutch translation.

BTW, i have 2 issues with the CVS version:

1) bin/rbbr seems to be in DOS format (with ^M characters at the end of
each line), so my shell could not understand the first #! line

2) After that I fixed 1), I have now this error:

        pinux@... ~/projects/ruby-gnome2/rbbr> rbbr
        /usr/local/lib/ruby/site_ruby/1.8/rbbr/ui/gtk/undo.rb:75:
        undefined local variable or method `type_register' for
        RBBR::UI::GTK::UndoManager:Class (NameError)

I suppose there is a problem with my current local repository, but I
don't know where is the problem exactly :)  I did a fresh cvsup check
out before.

Sorry. Yesterday, I updated some files on Windows to enhance rbbr on Win32.
I'll fix it.

Hmm, I think you need to translate it.

Hmm. The error message says GLib::Object.type_register is required.
It's been implemented since Ruby-GNOME2-0.8.0.

BTW, newest rbbr requires Ruby/GTK2-0.9.1.

Once again sorry, there is no problem.
What I thought was that this label should show the name of the currently
selected item which is obviously not the case.

Mitario is not on IRC at the moment, so I can't answer for him.  If he
doesn't respond for tomorrow you can still release RBBR, and ship the
Dutch translation for the next release.

OK it works now.  BTW the new RBBR is very cool, congratulation ;)

I will test the French strings this evening, I need to wait until my
laptop finished its upgrade.  I will fix eventual mistakes in the string
file directly in CVS so you don't have to care about it tomorrow for the
release.

I am running Ruby from the CVS. If you can't reproduce
it then I think something has changed in the
development version of Ruby. I have a Ruby version
from 16 hours ago. The declaration of the
"@@class_variables" in a module could be the culprit,
dunno :))
