Actually Henry's just sending patches and helping out (and doing a
great job of that). I'm the one who has taken over the 0.6.x
development/maintnenance. Yes an 0.6.3 is on the way, unfortnately I
can't say for sure how soon. 0.6.3-pre11 and above are pretty stable
I think and I hope to release a snapshot and follow the snapshot with
an real release after some further testing by the community at large.

This was with what version of coLinux? 0.6.3-pre?
Did you sync and umount the loopback image when you where done with
it. I recently did an FC3 image for a friend and I ran into a somewhat
similar problem cause I didn't sync and umount (that and it wouldn't
let me umount cause something in FC3 was holding open something but I
couldn't find out what was holding open what) First time I did it I
had an image that was trashed (woudln't even boot), second time I
built the image. I did the sync and umount (which failed again for
the same reason) but this time the image booted and worked fine.
