That's fine with me. Just remember to not generate the loaddefs
files with the CVS version of GNU Emacs, which produces code incompatible
with older [X]Emacs. AFAIK, using stock GNU Emacs 21.3 will generate
loaddefs files loadable by both GNU Emacs (CVS and released) and XEmacs.
