Have you confirmed that a web browser on your machine can retrieve the RDF
at the URL specified.

Checking the portald log file.

is portald actually running? are other portald blocks being updated?
My portald.log is found in /usr/local/slash/site/DiverseBooks/logs/
which is the same location as slashd.pid
However I don't actually have a portald.pid which means that portald is not
currently running for me. Maybe portald is getting *stuck* before reaching
your
new portal block. You need to check the logs.
