I have tagged a new snapshot in CVS. The tag is snap20020305. If you
don't already have a gramps CVS source directory on your machine, and
wish to try this out, see http://sf.net/projects/gramps and click on the
CVS link for more information. If you already have a CVS directory, use
the following command:
cvs update -d -A
This release has several bug fixes, and the following new features:
1) Names now have a type associated with them, such as "Birth Name",
"Married Name", "Also Known As", and "Other Name". This allows you
to indicate the type of name. This can be really helpful when all
you know is someone's married name.
2) Several GEDCOM improvements, including trying to match the REFN
tag to GRAMPS IDs.
3) Importing from GEDCOM or GRAMPS now always does an append, so the
intermediate window prompting for "New" or "Append" is gone. With
the scheme introduced in 0.7.X of always requiring a database to
be open, this no longer made any sense.
I hope to have a 0.7.2 release candidate available this weekend. If you
have code changes, please get them in to me by the 12th, to give the
translators several days before a final release (which I hope will be
