At this point I'm going to have to be pretty vague and say that from
questions in the last 2-3 weeks, Gnome 1.4 appears to be incompatible
with E in some pretty annoying ways. This seems to include with the
pager, root pixmap, and panel stuffs. I'm not sure why. I think it'd
help a lot of people if someone would goto the gnome lists and ask what
they changed. It might be the NetWM spec that's causing the problem, but
only they would know.
I don't think any of the developers are running Gnome, to be honest. I
know several (myself included) that use KDE stuff from time to time, but
not really a lot of Gnome stuff. So we're not going to be of much help.
