As superuser:

cd /bin
ln -s bash bash2

Thanks Keven for the suggestion; doesn't work; there is something else 
in the middle of the syntax I wish I could remember. Maybe Jessica from 
xvoice will get around to it.

That should definately work. What exactly is failing? Is the build failing,
or is the binary failing to run after you've installed it?

That should have done it. Is bash maybe not in /bin? What does "which
bash" tell you?

Brian: if this is like the last time he had a problem, the issue comes
at runtime. There is no compile time; he's installing from rpm.
