Actually, on further review, this file has a number of problems with
using behavior which is not specified by ANSI Common Lisp. In
particular, there are multiple unprotected defconstant of values which
are not always going to be EQL across multiple evaluations. Also,
mapcan is used on a function which returns backquoted data, which leads
to a very strange error when compiling xmlify-internal.
I'd suggest using SBCL to do a thorough vetting of this file to
determine what it's doing that isn't mandated by ANSI. Treat errors as
problems in the file first and only after all options are exhausted,
And why is this a single huge file? the authors need to learn how to
package code and use defsystem.
