Too hard to be done by me for the next release :-)

If someone wants to do it, no problem. One will, however,
dig into my weird gtk programming style. If we convert,
we should do it right. This means, compilation
with -DGTK_DISABLE_DEPRECATED should work, so we don't
utilize any backward compatibility features of gtk2.
