Uhm, are you sure these are the right files to commit?
I've just committed the eo.po file for e16, I was about to commit the
e17 one but I noticed that while the one in git contains 2215 translated
messages the one from your eo-trunk contains only 2028 translated and
167 untranslated. Is this intentional?

Well, looks like your tarballs are a total mess :(
both desktop-0.17 and desktop-trunk contains a git-e17 dir and a svn-e17
dir, and I really don't understand how to handle them.
First of all, please, forget about svn. Svn is dead, some legacies from
it are in a read only git archive and probably will stay there until the
end of the world. Also, apart from "master" branches which you refer as
"trunk" (I think), there are only two branches interesting for
translators: enlightenment-0.17 and elementary-1.7.
Please, refer to actual branches so that I can understand what has to be
committed and, most important, where!
